I had purchased a frame from Hobby Lobby on clearance this past winter for around 8 bucks. My original intent was to turn it into a magnetic spice rack. I didn’t have much room for it and I decided that I would use an old shelf I wasn’t using. I was left with a picture frame, and not a whole lot of ideas. I started looking through Pintrest for ideas for the frame, and I came across ideas that had taken picture frames and made them in to a clothesline picture frame. My inspiration piece came from www.goodwillionaire.blogspot.com.
My frame is much smaller and simpler than the one in the picture. This past Saturday night, I decided that I would work on some projects that I’ve had planned, but haven’t had much time to complete.
Tools:
- Frame
- Staple gun
- Staples
- Wire
- Hammer
I did mine a little differently than how it was done in the inspiration. In the inspiration, screws were used to attach the wire, and I didn’t have small screws, so I improvised and used what I had available. This is a super easy project to make. I like it because it’s easy to swap out the pictures as often as I want!
I cut wire longer than the sides of the frame and twisted each end.
Then I stapled each side to frame. (I love the staple gun!)
Next, I hammered the end over the staple to hold in place.
I repeated 2 times.

*I still need to get frame hooks to hang this and paint the clothes pins, and possibly paint the frame…I think there’s too much black.
Have you made a clothesline frame? I’d love to know how you did yours!
