10 Year Reunion – Weekend Recap

Hello I hope you all had a great weekend.

This past weekend I was in Milwaukee for my 10-year college reunion. I had such a great time catching up with friends, and visiting Milwaukee in general.  I’m exhausted, and I’m happy to be home snuggling with Harley.

I stayed with my friends Meghan and Eric.  I love staying at their house because it’s in one of the older neighborhoods right off the lake.  Their house is 108 years old and it has so much character. I wish I grabbed a picture of it, but I’ll get it another time I get down there.

Friday night each class had its own kick off party.

Saturday there were tours of campus and the new buildings (which I caused us to miss because I was a slow poke). Instead, Heather, Phil and I made our own tour.

We stopped at Sobleman’s for lunch, where I had one of their famous Bloody Marys.  It was like a meal in a glass, and delish!
Saturday, after we stopped at the all alumni party, we went down to see a Drag show at the Brady St. Festival.  It was cold this weekend, the high this weekend was only 65 degrees.  65 in July…oh my!

Sunday morning we went to brunch at Cafe Benelux, and wondered around the Milwaukee Public Market, where I bought some cheddar cheese from Tickler Cheese, which is made in Devon, in the United Kingdom (I love most things British). From here everyone said their goodbyes and slowly went off their own ways.
I went back to Meghan and Eric’s place, where Meghan and I stopped at a few of her neighbors’ houses to take a look at their gardens.  Her neighborhood was having a garden tour.  More information about the tour, and one of the house’s we stopped at can be seen here.

After saying my goodbyes to Meghan and Eric, I stopped at the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center to take some pictures.  I had been there last year for a family friend’s wedding, and wanted to come back to take pictures, and today was a perfect day to do so.  I’m slowly learning how to use my point and shoot camera to get some good quality pictures and different techniques.  I’m hoping to get a DSLR before my trip next fall to Europe.

I left the nature center, and headed back to Green Bay.

How was your weekend?  Let me know!
