Hello there everyone,
This weekend was a dreary but busy weekend, which started Friday night with some cleaning. I know, a super hot way to spend my Friday night. 😉
Saturday I got up early at 7:30, which felt like the crack of dawn. The rain that had been pouring down all night long and in the wee hours of the morning decided to take a break. I like to think that the rain did it just so I could to to the Farmer’s Market. I haven’t been to any Farmer’s Market since classes began.
Getting back to my weekend, I picked up some purple garlic, onion, carrots, celery, and cilantro. I was going to use these to make chicken soup later that day. The only things I didn’t get were the chicken and potatoes.
So I used my hard bought goods and made soup. Saturday was the perfect day for making soup! While my soup was doing it’s thing, I watched a marathon of Halloween Wars on the Food Network and did homework. I ended up with four quarts three pints and two glad freezer containers, one of which was filled with the chicken and veggies that I will use for pot pies.
I had to need a quart that was in use so I made apple crisp. It turned good, a little gooey-I think I used too much butter but it was good.
Sunday I had to get up early since there was a home game and I had to be at the stadium by 6:45. My dad and I got to his house just before the first quarter ended. We watched the game. I took a nap and then we had dinner. I brought some soup over and had that for dinner. Being the nice sister that I am, I brought my brother some on my way home. He was at the stadium at 6:30 am and I don’t he got done until 10:30 pm.
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen this picture of my brother I posted. What can I say? I’m a proud big sister. Nice pink shirt to support breast cancer awareness and a nice tie I got him for Christmas or a going gift.
I had my first quiz of the semester today. I think I did OK. We went over them in class tonight and I know that I got two wrong. I’m hoping my instructor doesn’t grade too harshly on my wording of some of the short answers! My next two weeks are going to be packed with studying for midterms in two weeks! I’m starting to feel a little overwhelmed between work, class, mock trial preparations, and everything else.
How do you guys balance everything in your lives?
