I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend (if you had one). I can’t believe that it is December 2nd. Where did the time go? I had five days off and going to work today, was pretty hard getting up to go to work. I had one of those days where I felt totally off and couldn’t concentrate.
Wednesday I went out to dinner with my friend Kelly and then we went to see Catching Fire. I loved it. It was such a good movie. I can’t wait to go and see it again. After the movie I met my friend Kira out for a few drinks for her birthday.
Who knows maybe it was all of the family time I spent this weekend. Besides my little family Thanksgiving Thursday, on Saturday I had Thanksgiving Part Deux. Since my mom passed away, my friend Jenny and her family have welcomed me into the fold. I’ve known Jenny and her twin sister Jessie since I was in 6th or 7th grade and they were in either 4th or 5th grade.
Friday my day consisted with doing a little cleaning around the house and running a few errands to try and find a cheese platter. Although it was crazy busy at the stores, I went late enough that I missed out on the crazies. I don’t get fighting over the newest gadget or toy. Maybe it’s because I don’t have kids so I don’t feel the pressure of having to go and get them.
After my shopping excursion, I went over to Jenny’s to help her prepare for Saturday’s Feast. I can honestly say that, I wasn’t helpful, and we were there really just to hang out and help if needed. I got to play with Jess’ baby girl Abby. I enjoyed play with her even if she wanted to gnaw at my face and glasses.
Saturday, was all of the shenanigans you’d expect it to be when a 30 or so people get together. I got there a little before 2, with my cheese and spinach and artichoke dip. There was wine to be had and someone brought some caramel apple pie to sip on. I’ve made apple pie before but not the caramel version. I’m on a mission to find that version!
My duties for the day was to bring spinach and artichoke dip and a cheese and sausage platter. I forgot the sausage. Luckly Darsey had back up.
