Bullet Journaling

I recently started bullet journaling (bujo for those of you in the know). If you know me, you’ll know that I’m not a very organized person. I try to be organized and it works for 2 weeks and then I go back to being unorganized. I love to write and doodle and make lists, and remake those lists. I will rewrite my post-it notes multiple times until I’m satisfied with the writing. This is sort of surprising because I don’t think I have consistently nice penmanship. My mom on the other hand, had beautiful penmanship. Once in a while I will write an L or an F or a T, just the was she did. That makes me happy. Read More

In front of the camera – a single lady’s holiday card

Tis the season! The season for cute and adorable family and couple photo Christmas Cards. This year I thought, what about all the single ladies (and dudes). What about us? are we just relegated to second-class Holiday cards? This year, the answer was NO!

This year, I embraced my singledom and my cat-ladyness! I’m 37 and gosh darn it, I’m pretty awesome. Why not show off my silly side in my Christmas cards this year? So I enlisted Jolene’s help taking the photos. I took her engagement photos and she took some previous headshots of me. (Check out some of Jolene and Jason’s engagement pictures )

Holiday Swag

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I can’t believe that Christmas is right around the corner. Where has 2017 gone?

Over the long Thanksgiving weekend, I  did minor Black Friday shopping Friday morning. I ran to Michael’s and TjMaxx because was wide awake at 6:30 and couldn’t go back to bed. Saturday, I went and cut down my Christmas Tree with my niece Bella. So with a saw in hand, we headed about 20 miles east of Green Bay to Aissen Tree Farm, in Luxemburg, WI. Read More

New site!

Hey there!

I finally took the leap and am in the process of moving my blog from blogger to WordPress! I feel (and hope) that moving to WordPress right move for me and my blog. This move will help me expand my brand as necessary. I love the variety of themes and ease of use.

I’ll be transferring my previous posts over in the upcoming days. Feel free to stop by and check them out! Bear with me while I’m working on the conversion!

In the meantime, Happy Crafting!

Desk Makeover

Hi there! Today I’m going to share my desk make over! I got this desk when my parents upgraded their desk almost 10 years ago. This desk was the desk my parents used when they first started their trucking business back in 1989. It’s been around the block more than a few times. I remember sitting at this desk doing homework on our first computer, using messaging my friends (and boys) on AOL. It saw me through writing papers and applying for college. Now it’s where I do most of my crafting and writing.

My newest addition is my vintage Marquette Pennant. I found back at the beginning of March when I went on my Vintage Shop Hop adventure! I had it up just in time for March Madness, but alas, it didn’t really help Marquette Basketball. Until next season!

Anyway Back to the desk. Originally, it was a pretty typical desk, with no frills. Back in 2007, I had repainted the desk just a simple black.  Then in 2014 it started pealing so I tried to cover it up by touching up the black and then stenciling over it in turquoise. I got this wonderful idea to try it while I was working from home. My old position allowed me to multi task, and man I took advantage of that. I painted the version below during my down time between calls. So my before picture is when when it was still painted black and turquoise.
